As more Nigerians use the internet for daily activities like shopping, banking, and socializing, it’s important to make sure your online accounts are secure. Here are five tips to help you protect your personal information and avoid online fraud:

1. Use Strong Passwords: A strong password should be at least eight characters long and include a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using easy-to-guess information like your birthdate, name, or address.

2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication: Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your accounts by requiring a code in addition to your password. This code is usually sent to your phone via text or generated by an app like Google Authenticator.

3. Keep Your Software Updated: Regularly updating your software can help patch security vulnerabilities and protect you from cyberattacks. Be sure to update your operating system, web browsers, and antivirus software as soon as updates become available.

4. Be Wary of Scams: Scammers often use email or social media to trick people into giving away their personal information or money. Be wary of unsolicited messages and never share personal information or financial details with someone you don’t know.

5.Use Secure Networks: When accessing sensitive information like your bank account or credit card details, use a secure network like your home Wi-Fi. Avoid using public Wi-Fi networks, which can be easily intercepted by hackers.

By following these simple tips, you can help protect your personal information and avoid online fraud. Stay safe online!
