Nigeria has made history as the first country in Africa to implement open banking regulations.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved the adoption of open banking regulations, making Nigeria the first country in Africa to take this step. The move, which was announced on March 7, 2023, is expected to drive innovation and foster new partnerships in the banking industry.

An initiative to provide metaverse education to six million African women is being led by Unstoppable Women of Web3.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, a diversity and education group under aegies, Unstoppable Women of Web3 (Unstoppable WoW3), has announced it’s plan to provide Web3 and metaverse education for six million women in Africa for the next five years.

Multichoice has partnered with a firm to revamp its streaming app.

MultiChoice Group has teamed up with Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Sky to expand and relaunch its streaming service, Showmax. Victor Nwaobia has been named the Chief Sales Officer of 9mobile.

As part of his new role on the Executive Management Team, Nwaobia will oversee the development and execution of 9mobile’s sales strategies and initiatives across the Consumer Sales Channels, Enterprise Business, and Retail Experience.

NITDA “the shortage of skilled labor and early stage funding are among the obstacles hindering digitalisation.”

Kashifu Abdullahi, the Director-General/CEO of NITDA, has identified several challenges facing the growth of digitalization in Nigeria, including limited infrastructure, a shortage of skilled labor, limited market access, and a lack of early-stage funding.
